Care of ill or elderly dialysis patients becomes increasingly difficult as the illness progresses or the age advances. The number of duties in a dialysis ward is great and the nursing station in each serves as the center for management of patient information and team based treatment, in order to provide dialysis patients with safe and comfortable medical treatment. There is no clear definition of nursing stations in dialysis wards but the medical staff typically manages patients during dialysis while also, operating under doctor's instructions, keeping a nursing report, carrying out supervisory duties, and preparing injections and anticoagulants for administration to the dialysis patient. Therefore, the nursing station needs to be constructed, located, and equipped so that the nursing staff can continually observe the condition of patients and dialysis equipment, as well as handle emergencies with nurses and patients being in close proximity. |
