[ Summary ] |
The treatment of CAPD-associated peritonitis especially in relation to the causative bacteria, empiric therapy, and pharmacokinetic studies of antimicrobial agents, were reviewed. Although treatment, using suitable antibiotics and its minimum duration is a principal factor, treatment using vancomycin must be revaluated. When the course of peritonitis lengtheus or responses poorly to antibiotics, the discontinuance of the CAPD catheter must be kept in mind as an alternative. |
