| [ Summary ] |
We introduced a computer for processing the data associated with the increasing number of hemodialysis patients and the prolonged duration of hemodialysis. Files were produced for hemodialysis nursing records by which the course of hemodialysis could be followed. These contained information concerning patients' individual data, physician's summaries (including patient's history and the treatment course) and a primary check list for isolation of problems. In addition, a survey of the hemodialysis staff was performed to evaluate their attitude toward the introduction of the computer. Staff members who had never used a computer felt uneasy about the introduction of the computer, while those who had experience considered the computer useful. |
