In the United Kingdom, the major treatment for chronic renal failure patients is now hemodialysis. Most kidney transplantation are from living donors. It is very difficult for Japanese patients to receive kidney transplantation in the United Kingdom. There are some hospitals, for example St.John and St.Elizabeth Hospitals (located at Nippon Club Medical Clinic), in which Japanese patients (tourists) can receive hemodialysis treatment. Japanese patients living in the United Kingdom can be hemodialyzed under the care of N.H.S. or at private medical expense. |
