[ Summary ] |
The systems allowing organ transplantation from donors diagnosed as brain deadand laws supporting these systems have not been fully established in Japan. We discuss the problems of establishing these systems from the emergency hospital viewpoint. These include (1) necessity for criterias as an emergency hospital, (2) relationship between the network of organ sharing and the emergency hospital, (3) authorization for coordinator, (4) preparation for multiple organ transplantation, and (5) problems with the laws on organ transplantation in emergency hospitals. In spite of many problems awaiting resolution, great efforts in emergency hospitals are necessary to establish organ transplantation systems in Japan. |
