[ Summary ] |
Although the main aim and significance of magnifying endoscopy is in vivo pit pattern diagnosis, it is expected that any system of magnifying endoscopic diagnosis will include conventional endoscopic diagnosis and other specific findings which can be observed by magnifying endoscopy, such as vascular network patterns and the state of tumor stroma. To establish magnifying endoscopic diagnosis systems, it seems necessary to examine the point by point correlations between magnifying endoscopic views and histopathological findings. Concerning the future prospects of magnifying endoscopy, this method is expected to be useful in making diagnoses of dysplasia in ulcerative colitis. In order to establish a magnifying endoscopic diagnosis system for dysplasia, it is necessary to study magnifying endoscopic views of inflammatory regenerative mucosa, as well as of dysplasia. |
