[ Summary ] Based on the abundant TCS screening data at our center, the benefits, problems, and optimal intervals associated with TCS screening for complete medical checkups were discussed, yielding the following results :
1) TCS was found to be an examination method with excellent screening effects.
2) TCS is expected to replace the fecal examination method in the near future as the first choice for colorectal screening for complete medical checkups.
3) It would be necessary to consider performing TCS screening at intervals of two years or more, even for total medical checkups.
4) It is preferable that initial TCS screening be conducted at 40 years of age. When mucosal carcinoma or adenoma is detected at that time, it is advisable to perform a second screening three years later. When no neoplastic lesion was detected, it is advisable to perform a second screening five years later. It is considered unnecessary to perform a third one for some time.
