[ Summary ] Radiographic, endoscopic and endosonographic features of primary colorectal lymphoma were described. At the authors' institution, the commonest histologic type was low-grade mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma (59%), followed by diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBL, 17%). Histologic types correlated to the macroscopic appearance. The most frequent macrosopic type of MALT lymphoma was the polypoid type, followed by the multiple lymphomatous polyposis (MLP) type or diffuse type. High-grade B-cell lymphomas, including DLBL and Burkitt lymphoma, were seen to be as either the ulcerative type or the polypoid type. Peripheral T-cell lymphoma was characterized by diffuse or multifocal involvement with a long segment of the colorectum, being classified as either the diffuse type or the mixed type. It is important to understand these morphologic characteristics for correct diagnosis and optimal treatment of primary colorectal lymphoma.
