[ Summary ] |
Anti-tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) treatment is effective against IBD. Although several meta-analyses have been performed to evaluate the association between TNF treatment and surgical morbidity, the results are controversial. A recent meta-analysis showed a negative association between preoperative TNF treatment and surgical morbidity. Currently, there are no guidelines that restrict TNF treatment after surgery. However, we should confirm the absence of postoperative infectious complications prior to TNF treatment. |
