【 要旨 】 Complementary to wireless capsule endoscopy device assisted enteroscopy (DAE) was introduced in 2001. It allows visualization of the entire small intestine with the opportunity of therapeutic procedures by an endoscopist. Enteroscopy is an important part of the management in diagnosis and therapy of Crohn's disease (CD). This review provides an overview of the current state of Spiral enteroscopy (SE) in context to CD. We review the special features of the SE, especially of the PowerSpiral Enteroscopy (PSE) first used in human in 2015. Given the limited data in SE for CD we report on four cases which illustrate the features of SE. First experiences suggest that SE is a safe and effective tool which belongs to the arsenal for evaluation of the small bowel in patients with CD. Even in patients with surgically altered anatomy the SE and especially the PSE is a promising device. Further clinical trials have to clarify the role of SE and PSE in management of CD.
