A calibrated small-caliber-tip transparent hood aids endoscopic balloon dilation because it effectively secures the visual field without gas insufflation, helps with choosing a balloon catheter of an appropriate size, enable the insertion of a guide-wire and enables the passage the scope across a stricture after balloon dilation. It also facilitates observation of lesions on the mesenteric aspect through the transparent sidewall of the hood without gas insufflation. |
