[ Summary ] |
The tip hood is a very simple and inexpensive device used for insertion of the colonoscope. The distance to the contralateral mucosa is very important in the insertion of the colonoscope, and the tip hood confers the greatest advantage of maintaining this distance. There are some drawbacks, but some tip hoods have improved shapes. In addition, there are reports that the device is effective when used by skilled doctors and beginners. Therefore, the tip hood should be actively used during colonoscopy. |
