[ Summary ] |
Gastrointestinal bleeding is a major complication in patients undergoing dialysis and is attributed to platelet dysfunction secondary to uremia and intermittent anticoagulant use in those undergoing hemodialysis. Patients undergoing hemodialysis and/or those with chronic kidney disease show a high incidence of small bowel lesions and can be a risk factor for recurrent bleeding in cases of obscure gastrointestinal bleeding (OGIB). Additionally, it is necessary to carefully monitor patients because bleeding may be prolonged or intense, and even minute lesions may cause OGIB. |
