【 要旨 】 以前「暗黒大陸」といわれた小腸領域の診断法・治療法はさまざまな技術革新により進歩した．とくに小腸内視鏡はカプセル内視鏡とバルーン内視鏡の出現により目覚しく発展した領域である．そのおかげで多種多様な小腸疾患が的確に診断され，低侵襲に治療できるようになった．そのなかでもっとも多く遭遇する小腸出血の診断戦略を概説する．

[ Summary ] The advent of capsule endoscopy and balloon-assisted enteroscopy has been a breakthrough of diagnostics and therapeutics deep within the small bowel. These modalities enable correct diagnosis of small bowel hemorrhagic diseases and adequate treatment. We herein described the diagnostic algorithm of small bowel bleeding.
