| [ Summary ] |
Postoperative hemorrhage and perforation are the primary complications associated with colorectal endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). Two large multicenter Japanese studies have shown that the rates of postoperative hemorrhage and perforation were 2.2 % and 1.6-2.2 %, respectively. Recently, colorectal ESD has been reported globally as an effective treatment modality. Postpolypectomy syndrome is a rare complication of colorectal ESD. In this chapter, we have reviewed several reports describing colorectal ESD from Japan and other countries. |
