| [ Summary ] |
A man in his 70s underwent screening colonoscopy for FOBT with removing multiple colorectal polyps. 15 months after initial colonoscopy, he underwent follow-up colonoscopy, during which we found diminutive Is+IIc lesion 4 mm in size diagnosed as deep submucosal invasive cancer. He had surgery and pathological reports indicated T1b invasive cancer. Interval cancer was overlooked in the initial colonoscopy. The suspected reason for overlooking the lesion initially was that it was the depressed type, which is not easily found, especially in the presence of multiple polyps. |
