[ Summary ] |
Potential etiological factors regarding interval colorectal cancers indicate they are missed cancers, due to inadequate examinations/surveillance, incomplete endoscopic resection. Rapid developing cancers may also be in this category. Required preventive methods to combat interval colorectal cancers are important treating for missed cancers as well. Special endoscopes, such as balloon-endoscopes/thin diameter colonoscopes or colon cleansing improvements are necessary for adequate examinations. Education and accurate recognition systems are necessary for adequate surveillance. Shortening surveillance intervals post incomplete resection, and extraction of high risk group and adequate surveillance interval for detecting rapidly developing cancers. |
