| [ Summary ] | In this paper, we explained our histological criteria for colorectal flat cancer. First, we pointed out some histological features of colorectal cancer and described their details. Histological features for the diagnosis of cancer include an increase in turnor glandular density, depth of tumor glands in the mucosa, loss of polarity in tumor glandular differentiation toward the surface, change of tumor glandular structure (cribriform pattern, budding, intraglandular gland, etc.), increased nuclear density, loss of polarity of nucleus, increased N/C ratio, appearance of enlarged irregular round nucleus and appearance of enlarged clear nucleolus. Six cases of colorectal flat tumors were presented, the first and second cases were benign adenoma, the third case was a borderline lesion, the fourth and fifth cases were adenocarcinoma with low grade atypia and the last case was adenocarcinoma with high grade atypia. Our most important histological features in the diagnosis of cancer were changes in tumor glandular structure, loss of nuclear polarity, increased N/C ratio, appearance of enlarged round nucleus and appearance of enlarged clear nucleolus. |
