| [ Summary ] |
Approximately one year has passed since patency capsules use began to be reimbursed by the Japanese health care system. Indications of videocapsule endoscopy (VCE) include Crohn's disease. Once we recognize the indications and contraindications for this procedure patency capsule and subsequent VCE, VCE will become most useful tools to detect mucosal lesions in the small bowel without radiation exposure. Therefore, in patients with Crohn's jejunoileitis, VCE should be chosen for screening and assessment of therapeutic response. |
