| [ Summary ] |
Capsule endoscopy is considered to be the standard for examination of the small intestine. The magnetically guided capsule endoscope (MGCE) was jointly developed by Olympus Medical Systems Corporation and Siemens Healthcare. MGCE was developed for endoscopic examination of the gastric system. The Olympus capsule endoscope and Siemens magnetic guidance equipment may be used interactively move a capsule in the gastric system. A clinical trial comparing MGCE and conventional gastroscopy was conducted to assess the usefulness of MGCE. This study illustrated the usefulness of MGCE. |
