【要旨】	パテンシーカプセルの導入により，クローン病に対してカプセル内視鏡が施行可能となって約1年が経過する．パテンシーカプセル・カプセル内視鏡検査は適応・禁忌を十分に理解したうえで使用すれば，低侵襲かつ高感度にクローン病小腸粘膜病変を評価でき，粘膜治癒を目指すうえで非常に有用な検査となる．とくに，クローン病小腸病変の有無や治療効果判定などにカプセル内視鏡検査は有用である．

[ Summary ]	Patency capsules were introduced for videocapsule endoscopy (VCE) examination of Crohn's disease patients one year ago. VCE enables us to perform painless, detailed examinations of lesions in the small intestine for those with Crohn's jejunoileitis. VCE is expected to become the primary diagnostic tool for treatment of patients with Crohn's disease, not associated with stenosis.
