[ Summary ] |
The number of patients with small advanced colorectal cancer (tumors less than 20 mm in maximum diameter) is steadily increasing as a result of recent progress in colonoscopy. The majority of small cancers are found in the early stages and concludes treatment by endoscopically. However, some are found in advanced stages and must be treated with surgical procedures. It remains unclear whether reduced numbers of surgical procedures, especially lymph node dissection, are suitable for small advanced colorectal cancers or not. In this study, we suggest the malignancy potential and surgical strategies for small advanced colorectal cancer treatment. |
