[ Summary ] |
Colorectal ESD is a useful method for coloretal neoplasm treatment. However, it is not widely accepted that ESD should be the standard treatment method because of associated technical difficulties. Therefore, colorectal EMR is still an important treatment modality. Major complications associated with colorectal EMR are bleeding and perforations. These major complications diminish the benefits of EMR, including safety and better QOL. Efforts should be made to prevent complications with this treatment. In this review, the major factors associated with colonic EMR are discussed including frequency of complications disease mechanisms and preventative measures. |
