[ Summary ] |
Needle Knife, Hook Knife and Flex Knife have been the primary devices used for colorectal ESD. However, various other devices have been developed recently. One new feature, the "ball-tip", has improved the efficiency of ESD. This tool can stay under the submucosa without slipping out, leading to stable circumferential incisions. It also makes it possible to easily capture fibers during submucosal dissection. The "scissors-style" device (SB knife) has been developed as well. When selecting these devices, it is important to develop adequate proficiency when using any one for primary treatment. We must then try to become accustomed to other treatment modalities which can complement our primary treatments. |
