[ Summary ] |
Operative recurrence of intestinal Behçet's disease and simple ulcers is frequently observed. We studied the chief complications associated with postoperative recurrent ulcers. Rectal bleeding accounts for 20% of the major complications with postoperative recurrent ulcers. Recurrent ulcers are observed in the anastomotic region. Ulcers with rectal bleeding were smaller than those related to abdominal pain. Patients with rectal bleeding were found to have no inflammatory reaction in relation to WBC or CRP values. We performed spray treatment for recurrent ulcers using absolute ethanol or a Pentasa solution. After spraying ethanol or Pentasa several times, size was reduced, often leaving only scar tissue. |
