【 要旨 】 現在，ダブルバルーン内視鏡およびシングルバルーン内視鏡による小腸内視鏡検査手技の確立とともに，深部小腸においても食道，胃，大腸と同様の治療手技が行えるようになっている．小腸疾患に対する内視鏡治療のおもな手技としては，出血性病変および潰瘍性病変に対する止血術（機械的止血法，熱凝固法，薬剤局注法，薬剤散布法），狭窄性病変に対する拡張術，腫瘍性病変に対するポリペクトミー，異物除去術，Roux-en-Y 再建術後患者に対する胆道系アプローチなどがあげられる．これらにより従来行われていた開腹手術を回避することができ，患者のQOL向上に貢献できるようになった．

[ Summary ] Double balloon endoscopy (DBE) is very useful not only for diagnosis but also for treatment of various diseases of the small intestine. The effectiveness and safety of endoscopic treatment, using DBE for lesions in the small intestine has been widely recognized and standardized based on a great deal of experience and many reports. In this paper, we briefly describe the usefulness of the following endoscopic treatments : hemostatic procedures (clipping, argon plasma coagulation, injection, etc), polypectomy, dilatation for benign strictures with Crohn's disease or other inflammatory diseases, removal of foreign bodies such as capsule endoscopy, and diagnostic/theraupeutic ERCP for long-limb surgical bypass patients.
