[ Summary ] |
The detection rate for colonic cancer has been 0.18%, as reported in a 2006 nationwide survey of FDG-PET human cancer dry dock. The findings in the PET study were judged positive for colonic cancer, if the pattern of FDG accumulation in the colon was either focal or segmental. In these procedures, attention should be payed to two factors ; 1. physiological colonic FDG accumulation. 2. PET-negative colonic cancer. The usefulness of FDG-PET cancer dry dock remains controversial because of radiation related effects. Further cumulative studies are needed to reach conclusions concerning the efficacy of this treatment. |
