[ Summary ] |
Using MPR (MPR ; multi-planar reconstruction) and C-MPR (curved multi-planar reconstruction), the intestines can be fully examined. The intestines of patients with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis were examined with multi-slice CT. It is possible to recognize longitudinal ulcers, fissuring ulcers, stenotic colons and abdominal fistula with abscess in patients with Crohn's disease. It is also possible to visualize large intestinal mucosa in patients with acute phase ulcerative colitis. MPR and C-MPR are non-invasive methods of investigating inflammatory bowel disease. |
