| [ Summary ] |
Type VI pit patterns indicate intramucosal cancer, which is slightly or deeply submucosaly invasive. Therefore, type VI pit pafterns were classified into two groups, in which invasion depth was studied in relation to diagnoses. As a result, it was determined that the calculated accuracy, sensitivity, specificity as well as positive predictive values were 92.1 %, 82.8 %, 96.8 % and 93.0 % respectively in cases where cancer had invaded the submucosal layer by over 1,000 μm. Consequently, the subclassification of type VI cancer was established as an effective diagnostic method. |
