The Japan Society of Hepatology (JSH) prepared the "JSH Guidelines for the Management of Hepatitis B Virus Infection (First Edition)" in April 2013. Later, with the release of the novel nucleos(t)ide analogs, tenofovir‒disoproxil‒fumarate (TDF) and tenofovir‒arafenamide fumarate (TAF), the second and third editions were published, respectively. Currently version 3.1 is the latest version. The guidelines consist of six chapters namely: 1. Introduction, 2. Clinical significance of HBV markers, 3. IFN, 4. Nucleos(t)ide analogue (NA), 5. Treatment of chronic hepatitis and liver cirrhosis, and 6. Treatment of other conditions associated with HBV. The 26 tables and 8 figures included in each chapter contain the essence of hepatitis B treatment and can be referred by specialists for confirming knowledge. In recent years, drugs that cause reactivation of the HBV have been reported one after another, and the drugs were added to the list every time the guidelines were revised. Guidelines for the prevention of HBV reactivation and a list of drugs are summarized in Documents 3 and 4, which are optimal as materials used when instructing a doctor who has not specialized in Hepatology. |
