Cold snare polypectomy (CSP) is one of the endoscopic resection methods for colon polyps. CSP is performed for colon polyps using polypectomy without a high frequency device. The absence of thermal damage to the muscle layer is associated with a low risk of complications, including postoperative hemorrhage. Many studies have investigated the efficacy and safety of CSP for relatively small colon polyps less than 10 mm in diameter. As a result, CSP has become widely used in Japan for colon polyps less than 10 mm in diameter. However, few reports have described the use of CSP for relatively large colon polyps 10 mm or more in diameter, and the efficacy and safety of CSP for the large polyps remain unclear. In our present study, we performed clinicopathological analysis of CSP, with a focus on evaluating the efficacy and safety of CSP for colon polyps 10 mm or more in diameter.
