[ Summary ] |
The prevalence of incidentally discovered pancreatic cystic lesions (IPCL) have been increasing due to the progress of imaging modalities and the growing incidence of spread health check‒ups. Recent meta‒analysis reported the prevalence of IPCL and intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN) were 8 % and 4.3 %, respectively. The prevalence is related to age, diabetes mellitus, and obesity. Because the majority of IPCL are considered as IPMN, continuous follow‒up is warranted. IPMN is classified into main‒duct type (MD‒IPMN), branch‒duct type (BD‒IPMN), and mixed type based on morphological imaging. |
