[ Summary ] |
Various submucosal tumors and submucosal tumor-like lesions are found in the jejunum and ileum. However, many cases are asymptomatic, and the precise frequency is unknown. In addition to being diagnosed when assessment is triggered by gastrointestinal bleeding and stenotic symptoms, abdominal pain, intussusception, and abdominal tumor palpation, some cases are asymptomatic and may be found by chance during evaluation for other diseases. Diagnosis with endoscopic examination alone is often difficult, and comprehensive evaluation using computed tomography, abdominal ultrasonography, endoscopic ultrasonography with a mini probe, and other methods may be required. For endoscopic biopsy, there is a high risk of bleeding after biopsy against the correct diagnostic rate, and unnecessary biopsy should be avoided. If surgical resection is necessary, marking or tattooing is useful for performing partial resection of the small intestine with the assistance of a laparoscope. |
