[ Summary ] |
Definitive chemoradiotherapy is a standard treatment for patients with locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma who are ineligible for surgery. For decades, the first‒line treatment for metastatic esophageal cancer has been 5‒FU and cisplatin, and taxanes are used as second line chemotherapy. New effective therapies are urgently needed ; as such, some clinical trials for esophageal cancer are underway. |
