Altered gut microbiota composition affects nutrient acquisition and energy regulation, thereby influencing the development of metabolic disorders such as obesity and diabetes. Recent studies claim that gut microbial metabolites are the key factors. In this review, we summarize the relationship between gut microbes and the host energy metabolism via the gut microbial metabolites. |
