[ Summary ] |
For the early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, it is necessary to examine patients with risk factors for pancreatic cancer. To identify these patients, effective communication between specialists in pancreatic cancer from medical centers and general practitioners is very important. Specialists in pancreatic cancer from medical centers should educate general practitioners about the risk factors for pancreatic cancer, abnormal ultrasonography (US) findings, and the importance of MRCP and EUS. If abnormal US findings are indicated by general practitioners, it is important to check the entire pancreas for lesions in medical centers. Subsequently, multiple pancreatic juice cytodiagnosis using ENPD should be performed in suspected cases of early stage pancreatic cancer. The early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer is facilitated by such alliances between medical centers and general practitioners. |
