It is clear that anticoagulant and antiplatelet therapies increase gastrointestinal bleeding. The importance of this factor is vital when treating the lower gastrointestinal tract. New guidelines indicate greater care must be taken to prevent embolisms associated with anticoagulant or antiplatelet therapy discontinuation. However evidence to substantiate the above is still small. It is necessary to clarify risks of bleeding events, and implement more user-friendly guidelines by examination of these cases. It is necessary to devise individualized treatments to reduce bleeding. |
