[ Summary ] |
Endoscopic ultrasonography-guided biliary drainage (EUS-BD) has been developed as an alternative drainage method for patients with obstructive jaundice. Basically, EUS-BD is divided into the categories of EUS-guided choledochoduodenostomies (EUS-CDS) and EUS-guided hepaticogastrostomies (EUS-HGS). Although all procedures require further assessment in a larger cohort of patients, EUS-BD may be a promising technique for the treatment of obstructive jaundice. However, dedicated devices for EUS-BD are required to develop for reliable procedures. |
