[ Summary ] |
There are various endoscopic findings for gastrointestinal malignant lymphoma. Malignant lymphoma of the stomach is endoscopically divided into the superficial type, ulcerated type, tumorous type, collapsed type and giant fold type. Malignant lymphoma of the small intestine is endoscopically divided into the localized type and the diffusely infiltrated type. Malignant lymphoma of the large intestine is endoscopically divided into the localized type and diffuse type. Findings of gastric lymphoma with magnifying endoscopy using narrow band imaging include diversity in pit size, ballooning of gastric pits, increased pit size, destruction of pits and irregular distribution of pits, the existence of lymphoid follicles, and intercalation of pits, resembling the background mucosa. In addition, tree like microvessels are recognized in accordance with whitish lesions, Which are regarded as lymphoid follicles. Discrimination from cancer is made through the following ; the existence of lymphoma mainly in the submucosa, and the absence of epithelial changes at ulcer margins in cases of lymphoma. |
