【 要旨 】 漢方外来を受診する潰瘍性大腸炎・クローン病の患者は少なからず存在し，QOL向上や西洋医薬の副作用軽減などの観点から，漢方薬の効果に期待が寄せられている．本稿では，消化管疾患全般に対する漢方医学の考え方を解説したのち，腹痛など炎症性腸疾患患者にみられる症状ごとの処方解説を中心に，潰瘍性大腸炎・クローン病の漢方治療について概説した．炎症性腸疾患は難治であるが，漢方治療を上手に取り入れることで患者のQOL向上が期待できる．西洋医学的治療が難しい症例にも使用できるなど，補完的な治療としての役割は少なくない．潰瘍性大腸炎やクローン病症例に対して，漢方治療は積極的に試みてよいと考えられる．

Title Kampo Therapy for Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease

[ Summary ] There are increasing needs for Kampo therapy among patients with ulcerative colitis or Crohnʼs disease. Kampo medicines are useful for improving patientsʼ quality of life and for attenuating the adverse effects of modern medicines. In this article, we describe the uses of Kampo therapy for ulcerative colitis and Crohnʼs disease, with particular focus on the treatments of individual symptoms of these diseases frequently seen in clinics. Kampo therapy could be an important option as a complementary treatment of the inflammatory bowel diseases, for example, in patients who cannot tolerate modern medical treatment. We recommend the positive application of Kampo therapy for patients with ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease.
