[ Summary ] |
Solid-pseudopapillary tumors(SPT)of the pancreas are rare entities. The majority are observed in young females and usually follow a favorable clinical course. In general, SPTs have capsules or calcification, and are often accompanied by bleeding and/or necrosis, leading to cystic tumor formation. Typical features detected with imaging modalities allow easy diagnosis of SPT. However, some of these tumors are difficult to differentiate from other pancreatic tumors. Surgical resection is recommended because of the malignancy potential of these tumors. In this study, we present information on cases of SPT we have treated and illustrate clinical features observed through imaging diagnosis and the characteristic clinicopathology of SPTs and quote references concerning SPT. |
