| [ Summary ] |
Hepatic resection is the only potentially curative treatment for patients having colorectal cancer with liver metastases. However, tumor relapses occur at high rates in patients who have undergone liver resection. Presently, no clinical study has demonstrated any survival benefits for patients treated with adjuvant therapies (hepatic arterial infusion and/or systemic chemotherapy). In this paper, we review randomized clinical trials from medical literature. We also present some findings from a multicenter phase II study (Miyagi HBPCOG-001) employing modified FOLFOX6 as an adjuvant treatment after liver metastases resection for colorectal cancer. |
