[ Summary ] |
Inverted colonic diverticula, pneumatosis cystoides intestinalis, arteriovenous malformation, colonic hemangioma and diverticulosis-associated mucosal prolapse syndrome are described. Inverted colonic diverticula are rarely resected endoscopically because of the possibility of misdiagnosis of colonic polyps. Endoscopic charcteristics include changes in shape due to air volume and concentric circles seen with chromoendoscopy. Pneumatosis cystoides intestinalis is characterized by multiple soft submucosal tumors. This condition is not difficult to discern with differential diagnoses for colonic polyps. Colonic hemangioma is rarely resected endoscopically because of common misdiagnoses of colonic polyps. |
