[ Summary ] |
Intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMNs) are classified into the main-duct type and the branch-duct type, with each having different imaging features. Surgical resection is recommended for main-duct IPMNs due to the high prevalence of malignancy. Branch-duct IPMNs sometimes need to be differentiated from other cystic neoplasms of the pancreas. The incidence of malignancy is reported to be lower than that of the main-duct type. Detailed evaluation is necessary to make optimal clinical decisions. In this article,CT and MR imaging features of IPMNs and differential diagnosis of other cystic neoplasms of the pancreas are presented. |
