| [ Summary ] |
We evaluated the utility of fluorescein magnifying endoscopy for the diagnosis of early gastric cancer. Differences in the fluorescence of cancerous and noncancerous mucosa produce a contrasting image therefore, the demarcations of the lesions became clear. Some lesions exhibited ringed fluorescence on the circumferential demarcation of the lesion. The endoscopic demarcations corresponded with the histopathological ones. No side effect from fluorescein was observed. Fluorescein magnifying endoscopy may be useful for identifying demarcations of early gastric cancers. |
