The combination of magnifying colonoscopy and chromoendoscopy using indigo carmine and crystal violet is feasible technique for differential diagnosis between non-neoplastic and neoplastic lesions. Furthermore, it is possible to decide on a therapeutic strategy for treatment of lesions, such as surgery, endoscopic treatment or observation. Maintaining the condition of colonoscopy is important for the use of magnifying chromoendoscopy, through such techniques as preparation, avoiding peristalsis, suctioning and washing. Magnification using indigo carmine dye spraying is useful for detection and differential diagnosis of malignant or benign tumors. Magnifying chromoendoscopy using crystal violet is performed for more accurate diagnosis regarding colorectal lesions at earlier stages. Pit pattern diagnosis and magnifying endoscopic techniques for differential diagnosis to separate non-neoplastic from neoplastic lesions of the colon and rectum are comparatively easy to master. The combination of magnifying colonoscopy and chromoendoscopy is the most reliable method for routine endoscopic diagnosis of the colon and rectum. |
