[ Summary ] |
When encountering patients with bleeding esophagogastric varices, we should first control the patients' systemic condition, and then try to achieve hemostasis using endoscopy. To obtain variceal hemostasis, we must correctly diagnose the bleeding site as being a white fibrin plug. The endoscopic variceal ligation method is usually used. After achieving hemostasis, portal hemodynamics should be analyzed using CT, MRI, EUS, or other methods. In Japan, endoscopic injection sclerotherapy is used in order to obtain long term non-bleeding. |
