【 要旨 】 近年進歩の著しいカプセル内視鏡 (CE) とダブルバルーン内視鏡 (DBE) について，小腸造影と比較して述べた．また，原因不明消化管出血を含む小腸出血，炎症性腸疾患，小腸腫瘍について，カプセル内視鏡とダブルバルーン内視鏡の長所と短所，使い分け，問題点などについて述べた．本邦でもCEが認可されれば，DBEが必要性も増すと予想している．小腸疾患の病態解明が進み，各疾患に対する小腸内視鏡検査のあり方が体系づけられ，より小腸疾患患者に寄与できるようになることを期待している．

[ Summary ] Capsule endoscopy (CE) and double balloon endoscopy (DBE) have become well developed technologies. Comparisons of CE and DBE for obscure gastrointestinal bleeding(OGIB), inflammatory bowel disease and small intestine tumor are described. Pathologies and clinical strategies for treatment of small intestine disease will be determined through use of CE and DBE in the near future.
