【 要旨 】 Helicobacter pylori除菌後の萎縮，腸上皮化生の変化について評価が分かれるのは，生検部位や評価方法の違いが一因している．体部萎縮が改善するという報告が増えてきており，自験例でも改善例を経験している．どのような体部萎縮が改善したのかを今後明らかにしていく必要があろう．腸上皮化生については，報告を見ても，われわれのデータを見ても，除菌後に腸上皮化生が改善に向かうとは考えにくい．

Title Does Gastric Gland Atrophy or Intestinal Metaplasia Improve after Eradication of Helicobacter pylori?

[ Summary ] There is still disagreement as to the reversibility of gastric gland atrophy and intestinal metaplasia after eradication of Helicobacter pylori. This may result, at least in part, from differences in biopsy sites and in the methods of grading used. There have been several reports on improvements in body atrophy. However, there are few reports on improvements in intestinal metaplasia.
