PEG is generally used as the route for nutrition in patients with dysphagia associated with cerebrovascular disease and neuropathy. Also in patients with gastrointestinal cancer, PEG is useful for home enteral nutrition and decompression. The purpose, adaptation, technique and problems on PEG in the palliative treatment are mainly outlined on this paper. |
